Ive been enjoying Japanese food ever since I was a kid and recently, I was able to lunch at Hanaichi Japanese Restaurant in Fort. It opened its doors only last May but I found out that it was actually connected to the former Nano Hana in Valero Street, Makati.

The interiors of Hainachi are very cozy and warm. The staff and servers were very friendly, like the chef.

They also have an array of sake to choose from.

Here is Chef Takashi, busy with our first course.

While waiting for our food, I had Iced Black Coffee and the other Iced Green Tea.

Our Deal Dozen feast started with the Spicy Tuna Maki. It was bursting with flavors and at the same time the tuna used was fresh. The spiciness was just right for a regular person.

Then we were served with the US Beef Sukiyaki Set. The sweet-soy broth warmed my tummy, getting ready for the rest of the meal. It had a generous amount of good quality beef, the noodles as usual were springy and I loved the Shimeji mushrooms they used with it.

The Sukiyaki Set came with miso soup, side dishes, rice and dessert.

After awhile, we were served with Unagi Kabayaki. This dish never fails to make me happy. Despite being part of a Set Menu order, they served authentic Unagi here -- fat, plump and good quality. Adding to this is the big serving of the eel. I love this with rice.

The last part of the Set Menu is the 5-Piece Ebi Tempura. Tempura is one of the dishes I look at in judging any Japanese restaurant. I like the quality of the Tempura served at Hanaichi. The prawn size is just right and the batter, soft yet crisp and not oily.
In between our Deal Dozen meal, Chef Takashi came to our table with a plate of Tofu Steak swimming in a thick brown sauce adorned with assorted mushrooms. All four of us felt that the tofu was homemade. We all raved on the tofus silkiness.

We enjoyed our Sesame Ice Cream complimentary dessert with Chef Takashi.
Food was excellent, service was great. On top of this is the touch of design on each plate which makes dining at Hanaichi an experience. I can see and feel the love that has been put in each dish through the plating by the hands of the chef. I can't wait to go back to Hanaichi for another Authentic Japanese experience.
Thank you for sharing your creations with us, Chef Takashi!
