Some people like chocolate, others crave for ice cream but I am a self-professed cake lover. So I was pretty excited walking into the classy facade of Luxe. 

Luxe, as the name implies, evokes the qualities of elegance and opulence. Inspired by the element of extravagance, Luxe is a haven for specialty cakes and gourmet pastries. As you enter the establishment, you are greeted by the staff's friendly smiles and wide array of fancy cakes on display. They all looked sumptuous and you would be tempted to try each and every one of their distinct flavors. I also love the lavish look of the cakes - excellent aesthetics. It’s also great that these treats come in two sizes: 3” and 6” diameters. So if you just happened to have a luxe craving, you could get yourself the baby cake, as I like to call it, and not have to worry about left-overs. Not too keen on cake? Not to worry because lining the wall are shelves of gourmet pastries such as Parisian Madeleines, Almond Meringue Cookies, Petit Fours, and the like.  Notice the pretty packaging as well. These treats would be great Christmas gifts!

Luckily, I was able to try a few of their bestsellers: Milanese Tiramisu, Gran Via Caramelo, Malignon ChocoLuxe and Manhattan Red Velvet. My personal favorite? The Milanese Tiramisu! I've always loved Tiramisu and Luxe's own rendition is no exception. I love the perfect combination of the different flavors and textures of its layers. Yummy!

The Gran Via Caramelo is perfect for caramel lovers. Very sweet and true to the caramel flavor. The crunchy sugary bits on top were a welcome addition, adding extra texture to the cake. The Malignon Chocoluxe is rich and "chocolate-y" (for lack of a better term). I really liked the marbled chocolate squares lining the circumference of the cake. I actually kept munching on them and finished it before the entire cake was devoured. (Yes, devoured.)

But more than just their special desserts, Luxe offers its clients customized celebration cakes for weddings, birthdays and any event imaginable. They even have an elegant consultation area in the shop for interested clients to inquire and look through their portfolio.
